We all love a giveaway right??? Well here's a great one, head over to Abbey Lane Quilts and check out the awesome giveaway they have running on their blog.......not to mention checking out all the lovely patterns they have for sale - totally mouthwatering and very hard to pick from amongst them. And you can find Abbey Lane Quilts on facebook too.........
As for me, I am busy working on some new items and enjoying having my daughter home from university.........will be back after the weekend with a more colourful post :)
Ooh as if all that lucious fabric buying and deliveries last week weren't enough.......I also have received my new BOM (block of the month). I have been so excited about this one coming, and am absolutely determined to keep up and not fall behind. The new BOM is Down In The Garden by Leanne Beasley. I adore the fabrics, the pattern, the stitcheries, the threads......ooh I just love it all and not wishing to sound greedy, I'll share piccies of my first package with you.....yum yumThis is a close up of block 1.......And here is the fabric and threads I fell in love with and just knew I HAD to have this BOM...I intend to start working on it tomorrow :)
Last week was the quilt show at Chilford. I went with my friend Chris and just enjoyed pottering around and enjoying the fabrics.......I had been so busy sewing for a sale the evening of the quilt show, being at the show was like a little mini break :) I bought a couple of kits, mainly to do with cupcakes, for my friend Helen from Just Splendid Cakes and made up the first one for her, which is now proudly hanging in her kitchen......the picture quality isn't great as I took a quick shot of it on my phone before delivering it to her
Yesterday my second bag kit from the Bagalicious Club arrived and it's even more delightful than the first.........and I loved the first one.........I haven't had time to start it yet, have some of the dreaded 'H' word to do first, but this is what I pulled out of the envelope - scrummy or what???
And then this morning me and Ross, decided to pop out for a coffee..........he needed to pop to the Thai supermarket in Richmond and from there we drove up to Kew Green in West London and had a little potter around the shops. After having a coffee we strolled down the road and came across Tikki, a little quilt shop I had never been to before. Was I glad we went in. Ross was feeling generous and we both loved a quilt that was hanging on the wall, and luckily we got the last kit for it.....
I'm so looking forward to making something purely for me and just for the pleasure of making something lovely..........I also have a passion for 1930's fabrics so treated myself to (or I should say Ross treated me to) this delicious 1930's jelly roll
.......and I've already picked out a pattern to use with it from Jelly Roll Quilts.........I just need a few more hours in the week to have time to play :)
So all in all it's been a week full of lovely fabrics - what more can a girl want out of life :)

After making lots of more labour intensive items, this afternoon I have made some simple - very simple - headbands. They were lots of fun to do and my gorgeous little model, India, quickly snaffled one up.......I think I might finish up the weekend making lots more in various colours........
