That's good right??? I have just taken another commission for yet another cot quilt, that is 3 I have to make now - 2 are orders and 1 is a gift. I also have 3 garden throws to make, with cushions, for my garden furniture, a throw for Ross, quilt for Chaz's new house when she moves to Brighton in September - not to mention all the bunting she has asked for, cushion covers, curtains etc.....I have orders for table runners, placemats, bags.......oh the list goes on and on. So in preparation I have spent the day sorting and cleaning my studio, organising my fabrics, and getting my list up to date - not to mention filling in my diary with my timetable of working hours to keep on track.
I think my next purchase should be, not fabric (shock, horror) but a big white board, to hang on the wall with orders and deadlines on there, so I can see at a glance what job I need to be working on.
It's my nieces 4th birthday next week and you know how it is, you can never think what to get them......so I decided to make her something for the garden. I'm sure she'll love it, I haven't been able to get Chaz out of it all morning - and she's 19!!!!!!!
Chaz has asked me to make her an adult sized one, but I'm hoping she's not serious LOL, anyway I still have to make a little quilt and some cushions for the inside of the tepee, so back to the studio I go :)
What makes me happy this Monday??? My gorgeous daughter Chaz.
Chaz is home from uni for the summer, so we have 12 weeks together before she moves into her little house in Brighton in September. I love her energy for life, her sunny smile, her kind heart......all the fabulous qualities she has (and I have no idea where she got them from LOL) so the last 18 months may have been incredibly tough for our family, but when I look at Chaz, I know that no matter how tough it gets out there, I have the best gift of all - my fabulous, wonderful, daughter.
Well after all my orders I have made something just for me........I spied it over at Quilt Fabric Delights and as it is made with my favourite fabrics I just had to have it. I love the stitchery on this runner, although I can't take any of the credit as I bought it as a kit. The beauty of a kit is that you have everything right there ready to go, whenever you are ready to make it........but it is lovely nevertheless. I hope you enjoy it as much as me :)
I've had a lovely weekend.......not only did the sun shine, not only did I have my daughter, Charley, home from uni and not only did my lovely husband cook some delicious meals all weekend but I was able to sew all weekend :)
Charley wanted me to make her some gifts for the staff at her placement and I had an order from Kate over at Katylou for a desk tidy and business card holder - she provided me with some of her favourite fabrics and gave me free rein to use what I wanted where, so I hope she's going to like them.
Here are the pencil case rolls and desk tidy I made for Charley
and here is the desk tidy and business card holder for Kate
Now my 'must have' orders are out of the way, I can get started on a couple of projects for me - hopefully it will be a productive week ahead.
I'm late for my Happy Monday post, about 24 hours late actually - not good really BUT the reason I had to be happy for on Monday, was the very reason I was late.........I am happy for very special friends.
We spent the evening with very special very dear friends last night - had an awesome time of reconnecting and catching up and didn't leave until 2am.......so by the time we got home it was well and truly into Tuesday and I had missed the Monday slot, hehe........I suppose I could have blogged about something else that makes me happy before I went out, but I knew that evening was going to really be what made me happiest :)
True friends, they take a while to find sometimes, but they are so worth the wait.
