One thing that has made me really happy today is Skype
Through this wonderful program, I can not only chat to my daughter but we can see each other, play games with each other and show each other stuff.....in my case showing Charley different fabrics of things I'm making :)
Even though she's over 60 miles away I don't miss her that much because I can see and speak to her lots :)
I had another gorgeous, and much anticipated, delivery this morning. MY new Block of the Month from Fat Quarter Shop.
It's a mystery BOM and although I had no idea what the finished product was going to look like, I loved the fabrics they were using, you can find out about it here......and here are a couple of pictures of my delivery.....this is Block 1
and this is the finishing kit I oredered along with the BOM
I just love these fabrics and am very excited to be making something without an overall finished picture in my mind, very different for me......so after I tidy my studio, I think I might just dive in and make block 1......and I'd better find a folder to keep it all in :)
Have a good weekend everyone.
Well I couldn't wait until I'd tidied and sorted my studio.......I've made the first block, isn't it pretty???
I'm very happy today to have finally put together my Autograph block quilt. I swapped autograph blocks with some quilting friends in the USA and I finally trimmed them all to size and put them together for a throw for my armchair in my studio......now all I have to do is find some backing and quilt it, then I will have a lovely reminder of all my friends over the pond :)
I've also started putting together a fun quilt using a drunkards path block. I got the kit from Patchwork Corner and am slowly putting them together.....I love this block as you can get sooo many different looks depending on which way you twist the blocks, but it is my first time sewing curves and so I'm not rushing it, but I am surprised at how easy the blocks go together :)
Oh and I can happily report that the sun has been shining for the last few hours and the rain seems to have passed - woohoo!!!
Whoops, looks like I clear missed last weeks MMHM post......not sure if it was because it was a Bank Holiday, or if the old grey matter is showing it's age......plus the gorgeous Charley came home last week so we've had lots of fun catching up :)
So back to this week, I know it's only just June and you may not be ready to see this....but today I have been working on some Christmas blocks!!!!
I'm involved with a Christmas block swap with my quilting friends from across the pond, and so we will all have time to finish the quilt, we are making the blocks now and swapping them out soon so we will have time to put the whole quilt together in time for Christmas.
So I'm sorry to shock you with talk of Christmas and pictures of festive fabrics, but that is what's making me happy today :)
