Makes Me Happy Monday 47/2011

My overseas Christmas posting has been sent this morning :)  I'm very happy about that....last year because me and DH took a little trip late November, I missed the last posting date but I made sure I was all organised this year :)

So along with all the cards was a few little pressies and my Secret Santa package, which is going quite a few thousand miles.....the big reveal day is 20th December so I hope it gets there in time :)

I've also finished all my Christmas shopping, just a few things left to wrap and put under the tree....which is already up as Ross got the tree down from the loft on Friday so we got it up and dressed on Saturday.......so I guess all I have to do now is wait, enjoy the run up to Christmas and have lots of time for sewing :)

Makes Me Happy Monday 46/2011

Hearts are making me happy today.....this morning I walked into my studio and breathed in the lovely scent of lavender from these cute little lavender hearts I've been making.....oh sometimes I wish we had smell-o-vision, they smell divine, alongside looking cute :)

I've also been wrapping presents for my Secret Santa swap with my friends in the USA....I'm having to post mine this week and I hope my partner likes it, there's just a couple of little more bits to get this week and then I'll posting by the end of the week, to give the package enough time to arrive before Christmas.

I've also been wrapping Christmas presents and writing Christmas cards....I do love this time of year, thinking about all the people you care about, trying to find ways to surprise them with a little something special and generally sharing the love :)

So today hearts and love are making me happy - what's making you happy today???

Makes Me Happy Monday 45/2011

Twit Twoo....I've finished Charley's Owl cushion :) I particularly love the 'heart' buttons sewn on the front to resemble feathers...and his big round eyes :)

I also used my favourite wiggly stitch on the back to try and make it look feathery.....he was a real joy to make and I'm sure I'll be making some more in the future, but for now I must stop sewing as I am having a major reorganisation in my studio.....sorting out all my fabrics and making room for new fabrics that Ross bought me over the weekend :)

Makes Me Happy Monday 44/2011

I am vrey happy today......hubby went away last night -bear with me, thats not the reason I'm so happy - but I have got up early this morning and done all the uglies (housework) and am now ensconced in my studio for the rest of the day.  There will be initial sorting out but I won't be able to hold for sewing for too long :) 

Back to hubby.....he's away until late friday night on a course and now the housework is all done, I am free to sew for the rest of the week.  Of course I'll stop to stay with Charley tomorrow night and for a lunch with a friend on Wednesday but apart from that there'll be no stopping me :)

Fresh Sewing Day & Small Blog Meet

Well this month has been a little productive, one thing which took a lot of my time is a surprise for Christmas so I can't post any pictures of that yet, but I did manage to get a few mug rugs done, I love making these :)

I also managed to put a quilt top together, but this one is definitely going on the 'to be quilted later' pile as there is too much to do before Christmas :)
