It's taken a little while but I'm back :) Boy, I've never had jetlag so bad but I think I am FINALLY back on UK time, although I missed the alarm this morning for swimming and didn't wake until 8.30am - eeek!!!
While I'm away I never usually get on the local time, but this year as soon as we arrived in Vegas, I got straight into the time zone, which probably explains why it took so long to find UK time when I got home. I also had terrible headaches and felt nauseus, but luckily that is all behind me. I've even recovered enough to start sewing - YAYYYY!!!!
I am currently sitting in my lovely cool air conditioned studio (thanks Ross for insisting on installing AC during the build) and I am making a special quilt.....aren't they all special in their own way??? But I do have a bit of a deadline, so I shouldn't really be spending time on here, I should have the pedal to the floor and get that quilt top finished :)
I do have some exciting news to share though.....
My daughter Charley and Stuart got engaged on holiday.....it was a very exciting time from picking the ring in Tiffany's at Rodeo Drive, Beverly Hills to having it sent to New York for resizing and then delivered to Tiffany's in Las Vegas for collection before we came home.....you can see how excited Charley was when she picked, and realised, she was getting her dream ring from Tiff's
A girl after my own heart LOL
So of course I am trying very hard to lose weight.....no excuses this time, no putting it off til next week....not only do I want to be thinner for Charleys graduation next year but I want to be at my ultimate weight for the wedding, which will be the year after - 2014.
So in order to make this happen, I've started planning and changing my food diary. I love salad so I've prepared my lunches for this week
Don't they look pretty??? And they taste pretty good too...each jar contains
1 little gem lettuce, shredded
3 or 4 spring onions, chopped
1 yellow pepper, diced
1 carrot, in ribbons
As the salad is stored in Kilner jars, they keep fresh for upto 5 days in the fridge and are perfect for me - I empty one out into a bowl, add a little dressing and if I want any leftover chicken or pasta from the night before - totally yummy and very low in calories.
So back to the sewing machine for me, I really must get this quilt made and finished before I go off to Birmingham in a few weeks for the Festival of Quilts. I love spending a couple of days there and getting all inspired all over again - not to mention the shopping BUT I don't really need anything, not after the fabric shopping I did in Vegas - which reminds me I still have to find space to put that all away - oops!!!!
