Today would have been my darling Nanny's 98th birthday....the last birthday we were able to celebrate with her was her 90th birthday. We all met at Cannizaro House on Wimbledon Common for a birthday afternoon tea. Nan was in her element, always at her happiest surrounded by family....
There are so many things to miss about Daisy......her laughter, her sharp wit, having a solution to every problem known to man, her famous 'Daisy' cakes, her support and care.....but there is one thing that always will stay with us and that is her love - we carry it in our hearts and lives every single day, we are surrounded by it and it's just as strong now as it was then. Nan you were truly amazing and one of a kind xxx
Today is also my wedding anniversary......12 years ago, me and Ross finally got married in Las Vegas :) I'd never wanted a big white wedding, something fun and intimate was all I needed but I chose to get married on Nan's birthday because she is so very special to me, and before we went on holiday I told her that when she woke up on the morning of her birthday, she would know that I was getting married that day :) Following in the tradition, Charley and Stu are getting married on this day next year......it's a very special day in our family and not only will Charley have daisies all around her, she will be carrying our own beautiful Daisy in her heart too xx
Yesterday was also another big day for celebrating. My Charley graduated from university - Hoorayyyy!!!! Charley has worked hard for 4 long years, faced many challenges during those years but has grown, matured and overcome as I always knew she would.
Ross, Stuart, Rene (my mum) and me all went down to the Brighton Dome to watch her graduation ceremony. I cannot express just how proud and delighted we all were.....it was a lovely ceremony and we are all excited for Charley to put all her knowledge to good use in her new job, starting in September. I just know her new class will love her and she'll have an amazing year.
It's been a very busy few months....we moved Charley out of her Brighton flat, she's graduated, gone for a job interview and got the job, we have a year until her wedding and Charley and Stu are buying their first home.......don't mind me if I go and lie down for a while, I need a rest :)
